did you feel the merciless cold biting
the rod went in one side and out the other
two eyes planted one and another
the paroxysms probably well worth it
wound and blood vanishing without a trace
leaving eyes that stare back at your pretty face
a silver sheen through the coiling whirls of smoke
emitting forth handheld pipes of rolled-up chemicals
we twiddle and fiddle in our freed-up fingers
observing patterns on the curiously tiled floor
observing patterns on the yawningly tall blocks
observing patterns on the peacefully blank skies
observing patterns in your swirlingly lustrous eyes
yes it was all worth it
yes it was well worth it
words lost in misty spaces
ideas wrapped in tracing paper
kisses spread on mutual skin
time concealed in tightly-clenched fists
"where shall we go now?" you ask
"let's eat ice cream"
"ok"
yum
i love ice cream
